The Reasons Why

I guess I should begin by explaining my reasons for writing this blog.  I actually decided to write it because I couldn't find anything like it around.

I learned of The Secret by Rhonda Byrne in 2009, while I was going through a challenging time in my life.  I was actually browsing the web looking for ways to help me deal with my depression when my psychiatrist wouldn't prescribe me the medications I was hoping for.  At the time, I didn't want to feel anymore of the emotional pain I was feeling, but she thought I needed to feel the pain to make decisions I needed to make in my life, so the search began.

As I searched for ways to help me through my depression I stumbled upon a website that mentioned a woman who read The Secret and turned her life around.  I remember writing the information down and heading to Barnes and Noble immediately to buy the book.  Once there, I asked one of the booksellers for help in finding it.  The woman mentioned that she owned the CD's of the book and highly recommended it.  I agreed to purchase the CD's, but also bought the book, since I'm an avid reader and I knew that I would enjoy reading the book for myself.

I arrived home and played the CD.  I immediately felt a change in myself.  Everything I was listening to made sense.  I was awakened to this new world, but yet I knew that it was a world I was already living in.

It's been almost three years since I first learned about the Law of Attraction and began the journey of creating my life.  I've learned so much and experienced so much in the world that I've created using the Law of Attraction.  I've read so many books and listened to so many interviews from the greatest minds of the Law of Attraction.  The only problem that I encountered is that most of those amazing people are entrepreneurs and have a business sense to them.  Most of their books focus primarily about getting what you want for your business and money.  Now don't get me wrong, I want to have money, just not an excess of it.  I know that may sound crazy to many people, but it's true.  What I focus on is having enough money to live comfortably and be able to do, be and have all the things that my family and I want. That's it.  I don't want to live in a mansion or drive overly expensive cars.  I'm perfectly happy living in the home we live in now and driving the car I drive now.  I'm extremely happy being a 2nd grade teacher and making the salary I make.  Like I said, it's enough for the wants that myself and my family have.

As I read the books that the greats had written I found myself often skipping over the chapters that talked about improving their business.  I wanted to focus on making my personal life better, my love, my relationship, and my friendships.  That's when I decided that if I couldn't find anything available that focused more on a personal rather than business look at the Law of Attraction, maybe I should write it and share my own personal experiences with it.  I believe the Law of Attraction works in all areas of our lives and as a person whose dream it is to become an accomplished author, I believe the Law of Attraction has led me here.

So, I'm glad you've decided to share in my adventures of using the Law of Attraction in my life.  I hope it will inspire you to use it in your own life.  Just remember we attract everything in our lives, the good and the bad.  Not everything I've attracted is good, but I do realize that I attracted everything into my life and take responsibility for it all.  The life I have created has definitely consisted of more great times than bad, but it has taken a lot for me to gain control of my thoughts and create the life I have today.
